Jeremiah (Jer) Cuddy, a resident of Cardtown, Mountrath, Co. Laois, has passed away following an unexpected death at Tallaght Hospital on June 3, 2026. He was reportedly surrounded by his wife and family at the time of his passing.
Family and Legacy
Mr. Cuddy was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mary-Ellen, his brothers Sean, Jim, and Lar, and his granddaughter, Chloe. He leaves behind a large and extensive family.
He is survived by his wife, Nuala, and his children: Diarmuid, Ray, Sinéad, Noel, Ken, John, Karen, Niall, and Brian. The family also includes a significant number of grandchildren, including Gerard, Zoe, Ava, D.J., Finn, Grace, Éanna, Aimée, Aaron, Isobel, Lee, Jessica, Judith, Dylan, Chloe, Leah, Jack, Jamie, and Darragh.
he is missed by his brothers Vin, Martin, and P.J., his sisters May, Margo, Marian, and Imelda, as well as numerous sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
Funeral Arrangements and Community Support
Reposing will take place at the family home in Cardtown (R32 XW44) on the evening of Friday, June 5, starting from 6:00 p.m. This will conclude with a Rosary at 10:00 p.m.
On Saturday afternoon, June 6, the removal will proceed to St. Fergal’s Church, Camross (R32 VY79). A Requiem Mass is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., which will be followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. The family has requested that the house remain strictly private on Saturday.
In place of flowers, the family has expressed that donations, if desired, may be made to Laois Down Syndrome.
