Michael (Mick) O’Reilly, a resident of Lacken Rise, Tullow Road, Carlow, passed away peacefully at home on April 15th, 2026, at the age of 91. His death, surrounded by family, marks the end of a life rooted in both Carlow and his original home of Pegsboro, Tipperary.
A Life Remembered
Mr. O’Reilly, who also formerly resided at Hillview Drive, Rathnapish, Carlow, was a graduate with a BAgrSc degree. He is remembered as the beloved husband of the late Kathleen and a devoted father to Maree, Anne, John, Helen, Bríd, Michael, and Clare. He is survived by his children, their spouses – Donie, Tommy, Mark, Mick, and David – as well as his daughter-in-law, Iarla.
His legacy extends to a large family including grandchildren – Cliódhna, Caitríona, Erica, Jack, Luke, Labhaoise, Fiachra, Clodagh, Ben, Ruth, Ciara, Diarmuid, Doireann, Ríon, Molly, and Jim – and great-grandchildren Ruadhán, Finn, and Tadgh. He is also remembered by his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and numerous nephews and nieces, relatives, and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing will take place at R. Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle, Carlow (R93 H308) on Friday, April 17th, from 4pm to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11am in the Church of the Holy Family, Askea (R93 AE39), followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice.
