The community of Ballinasloe and Brideswell is mourning the unexpected passing of William (Willie) Dolan, who died on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026. Mr. Dolan passed away while in the care of staff at University Hospital Galway.
Family and Community Legacy
A resident of Beechlawn, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, Willie Dolan also had strong ties to Curry, Brideswell, Athlone, Co. Roscommon. He is remembered by a wide network of relatives, neighbors, and friends.
He is survived by his wife Mary, sons Robert, Eoin, Alan and Colin, and daughters Majella and Irene. His family also includes son-in-law Ruan, daughters-in-law Marian, Caitlín and Katie, and grandchildren Cian, Aoife, Hannah and Seánie.
he is missed by brothers Tommy, Joe and Martin, sisters Mary and Margaret, and mother-in-law Rose. Mr. Dolan was predeceased by his wife Ann, daughter Clare, grandson Evan, parents Tommy and Bridget, brothers Jimmy, Eamon, John and Tim, and sister Bridget.
Funeral Arrangements and Services
The family has announced that Willie will repose at St Brigid’s Funeral Home, Brideswell (N37 EK88) on Sunday evening, April 19th, from 4 p.m. Until 7 p.m.
The Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for Monday, April 20th, at 12 noon in St Michael’s Church, Ballinasloe. Burial will follow in Cam Cemetery.
