Drivers and Family Stuck Overnight in Petrohan Due to Severe Weather Conditions
A car with two adults and two children became stranded overnight in the Petrohan area, near the village of Ginzi, according to the Bulgarian Red Cross’ Mountain Rescue Service (PSS), as reported by the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA). The incident was reported to the Ministry of Interior (MVI), leading to a request for assistance from the PSS. The rescue operation has already been successfully conducted.
The PSS confirmed that the tourism conditions in the mountains are presently unfavorable. Heavy snowfall, exceeding one meter in elevation, and an increased risk of avalanches pose significant hazards. Additionally, fog is prevalent in many areas of the Stara Planina mountain range.
