SEVERE SNOWSTORM CONTINUES TO DISRUPT TRAVEL ACROSS SOUTHERN NORWAY
A powerful snowstorm sweeping across much of southern Norway continues to wreak havoc on travelers on Monday. Flights are being canceled, trains are at a standstill, and buses are struggling to navigate the roads.
Those traveling by public transport in the late afternoon are feeling the brunt of the chaos. According to Øystein Dahl Johansen, press officer at Ruter, this is likely due to a combination of the heavy snow and regular rush hour traffic.
"Delays of 15 to 45 minutes are spread throughout the city, with no particular area standing out," Johansen told Dagbladet.
Weather forecasts predict that the snowstorm will persist into the evening. Johansen reports that Ruter’s operations center is closely monitoring the situation and maintains close contact with the city department and operators on the ground.
"Those planning to travel should allow ample time and stay updated on travel information at Ruter.no and in the Ruter app," Johansen advises.
