In a significant disclosure, the Special Forces Operations (SSO) unit has confirmed the elimination of three North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region, allegedly using forged documents. The revelation sheds light on Russia’s attempts to conceal its military losses and foreign presence, particularly involving North Korean troops.
According to the SSO, the soldiers, identified as Ban Guk Dжин, Li De Hyeok, and Cho Chol Ho, were using falsified identification papers. These documents, bearing Russian stamps, lacked proper authentication, including required stamps, photographs, and родства. Notably, the soldiers’ native place was recorded as the Republic of Tyva, a region in Siberia, rather than North Korea.
The documents, suspiciously, featured names that seemed to have been Russified: Kим Кан Солат Альбертавич, Донгнк Джан Суропович, and Белек Аганак Кап-оолович. Yet, signatures remained in Korean, undermining any attempt at genuine Russian-issued documents.
The SSO released images of the discovered documents, further corroborating their claims. "This episode underscores Russia’s desperation to obscure its battlefield losses and the influx of foreign soldiers into its ranks," a spokesperson for the SSO stated.
This isn’t the first instance of Russia’s involvement with North Korean soldiers on Ukrainian soil. Previously, social media reports hinted at the presence of North Korean troops, though Moscow has denied these claims. The latest revelation, however, adds weight to the notion that Russia might be employing foreign military personnel to bolster its forces in the ongoing conflict.
