Chinese Drone Pilots Detained in Oslo: Politi Confirms
Oslo police have confirmed the arrest of two drone pilots of Chinese nationality. The individuals, who are not linked to an earlier incident on Christmas Eve, were apprehended for flying a drone within Oslo’s restricted central zone.
According to Oslo’s operations leader Alexander Østerhaug, the pair were taken into custody and their drone equipment seized. The potential use and filming purpose of the drone are currently under investigation.
Although the arrests occurred centrally in Oslo, Østerhaug could not provide further information on the drones’ flight paths. It is believed that this incident is unrelated to a similar arrest involving Chinese drone pilots during the early hours of Christmas Day, as separately reported by VG.
