Ukraine‘s Air Defenses Engage Enemy Drones as Nighttime Attacks Continue
In a swift response to an incursion by enemy drones, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully engaged Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the early hours of the 24th. The Ukrainian military confirmed the engagement at 05:36, as reported by the Kieve Oblast Administration (Kova).
"Attention! Incoming enemy UAVs spotted in Kyiv region! Local air defense units are active. Please adhere to information silence and stay in shelters until the all-clear," Kova announced, urging residents to refrain from photographing or filming the defense operations, emphasizing safety protocols.
Earlier reports indicated that the Russian occupiers launched several waves of kamikaze drones towards Ukraine the previous evening. The night saw a heightened aerial activity, with air raid sirens wailing across GPU Pak and, for the first time, in the nation’s capital itself around 03:40.
Witnesses observed hostile drone movements approaching Kyiv from the north. It was confirmed that air defense systems were triggered in the Kyiv region, with explosions heard echoing across the city. The all-clear was sounded in Kyiv at 04:36, swiftly followed by the Kyiv region a minute later.
As the war against aggression continues, residents are reminded to stay safe and follow all guidelines issued by authorities during air raid warnings.
