Tilburg: Driver Arrested for DUI with Child in the Car; License Seized
In a shockingly irresponsible move, a 37-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning in Tilburg after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, with a young child seated in the back of his car. The Tilburg police revealed this on their Instagram account.
At around 01:30 AM, police spotted the man running a red light, leading to a chase. He ignored a stop sign before being forced to stop. Officers detected an alcohol odor inside the vehicle. According to Omroep Brabant, police tests confirmed that the driver was impaired by alcohol and drugs.
Remarkably, the driver refused to undergo a blood test to determine the type and quantity of drugs consumed. As a result, his driver’s license was immediately confiscated. Moreover, a report was filed with Veilig Thuis, a help and advice point for child abuse and domestic violence.
The child was collected by friends of the driver. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers and consequences of drinking and driving, especially when a child’s safety is involved.
