Title: Drunken, Drug-Impaired Youth Assaults 56-Year-Old Truck Driver in Bulgaria
In a distressing incident, a 20-year-old from the village of Zimm appel (short form of Замфирово) in Montana, Bulgaria, and his group allegedly assaulted a 56-year-old truck driver, leaving him with injuries. The incident occurred on the III-8104 road between the villages of Zimm appel and Perlichivo (short form of Пърличево) in the Montana region.
The Incident
At around 8:45 AM yesterday, a minor traffic accident took place on the road, involving a light car driven by the 20-year-old, along with two trucks – a "MAN" and a "MERCEDES" – driven by 56 and 65-year-old men from the village of Gintsi (short form of Гинци), Sofia region.
Alleged Attack
Following the accident, the youth allegedly pulled out the 56-year-old truck driver from his vehicle and, along with his companions, subjected him to a physical assault. The Bulgarian Transport Agency (BTA) reported this information.
Substance Use
A check on the 20-year-old revealed that he was driving after consuming alcohol and using multiple drugs – cocaine, cannabis, amphetamines, methadone, and benzodiazepines. His blood alcohol content measured 1.32 per mille.
Arrests and Consequences
The youth was detained for 24 hours, along with two others aged 21 from Zimm appel and Doctor Josephovo (short form of Доктор Йосифово) village in Montana. The assaulted truck driver was taken to the hospital and later discharged with home care instructions.
Investigation and Charges
Two pretrial proceedings have been initiated for the alleged offenses.
