Teenage Scooter Rider Caught Drunkenly Unbalanced in Surhuisterveen
In an unusual scene Wednesday morning, police in Surhuisterveen bore witness to an intoxicated scooter rider endeavoring to maintain balance, his feet scraping the ground. The 18-year-old local was subsequently found to be unlicensed and under the influence.
Authorities administered a breathalyzer test, revealing a blood alcohol concentration of 330 μg/l. The young man was issued citations for driving without a license and while intoxicated. His passenger, unhelmeted, also received a fine for not adhering to safety regulations.
