Collision at Sel Triggers Emergency Response
Four people were involved in a two-vehicle collision at Sel in Gudbrandsdalen on July 10, 2026. The crash occurred when one vehicle crossed into the opposing lane, striking an oncoming car.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene to triage the victims. While one individual was initially reported as critically injured, their condition has since been downgraded to less serious. That patient was transported to Lillehammer hospital, while the three other individuals involved were taken to the medical center in Otta.
Clearing the Scene of the Crash
Operations leader Pål Gjestvang stated in the police log that cleanup operations are currently underway. A tow truck is en route to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Despite the severity of the initial report, authorities now anticipate that the road may be reopened to traffic sooner than officials initially estimated.
