Emergency Responders Search for Missing Skater Overnight on Finnsrudtjennet
In a developing story, local police have reported a missing ice skater last seen near Finnsrudtjennet earlier today. The search, which began today, is ongoing despite challenging weather conditions.
A rescue helicopter has been dispatched, but poor visibility due to fog has hindered its operations, according to redningsleder Kjetil Hagen from the main rescue center. "The helicopter has had difficulties due to fog and had to return," Hagen told Glåmdalen.
The search is expected to continue throughout the night into Sunday, with emergency services working tirelessly to locate the missing individual. Officers from the Innlandet police district, along with teams from the fire department and other relevant services, are currently involved in the search operation.
The missing person was reported missing at 21:47, several hours after they were last seen on the ice. Theipool’s operations manager, Haagen Løvseth, confirmed the incident, saying that the search is taking place on the ice, and no volunteers have been involved due to the icy surroundings.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the missing person during this anxious time. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
