That milestone ties the all-time record for the longest reign in the chart’s history, matching Mariah Carey’s holiday classic All I Want for Christmas Is You.
Ella Langley has dominated the Billboard Hot 100, the ranking of the 100 most-consumed songs in the United States, throughout much of 2026. She scored her first leader early in the year with Choosin' Texas,

The 27-year-old Ella Langley was raised Southern Baptist in rural Alabama, growing up singing hymns around the piano at family reunions. She was already six years into her Nashville career when she put out “Choosin’ Texas” last October, as the lead single.

Drake Drops a Remixed Version Featuring Don Toliver
Ella Langley’s bittersweet Choosin' Texas,
which is apparently the most popular song in recent history, has spent a record 22 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The song has been inescapable for months—making it the perfect avenue for Drake to put his own spin on it, with the help of Houston rap star Don Toliver, of course. On Tuesday, Drake released a short film titled Fear Of Missing Out that featured the rapper getting a makeover at Hot Topic with his goth girlfriend,
hanging out with bestie Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant, and more. He also previewed music on livestream, including a track revealed to be a remix of Langley’s Choosin' Texas.
