Medical Helicopter Transports Woman in Coma from Blagoevgrad to Sofia
In a criticalTransfer on Friday afternoon, a medical helicopter airlifted a 29-year-old woman in a coma from Blagoevgrad to Sofia’s Okrъжna Bolnitsa. The lifesaving flight took off from the stadium "Hristo Botev" in Blagoevgrad around midday, swiftly conveying the patient to the capital city’s hospital.
This marked the fifth such mission to Blagoevgrad this year, further underscoring the essential role played by air ambulance services in swiftly transporting critical patients to specialized medical facilities.
Meanwhile, as the holiday season peaks, medical services across the country remain on high alert. In Sofia alone, around 3500 patients sought medical help over the recent holiday period, highlighting the importance of robust healthcare provisions and emergency services during peak demand times.
