Local News Alert: Toverland Employee Injured in On-Ride Accident

An employee of the Limburg amusement park, Toverland, has been injured in an incident involving an eight-meter fall from an under-maintenance wooden roller coaster. The accident occurred during morning maintenance hours on December 9, according to Belgian pretpark news blog Looopings.

The employee is believed to have come into contact with the roller coaster’s structure during the fall, resulting in a broken elbow. Toverland confirmed the incident to regional news outlet L1.

Details of the exact events remain unclear. Toverland’s spokesperson told L1 that the park is investigating the incident, which occurred while the park was closed. They expressed sympathy for the injured colleague and wished them a speedy recovery.

The park has not previously commented on the incident due to respect for the employee’s privacy and the internal nature of the matter. However, following queries from Looopings, Toverland released a short statement.

The Netherlands Health and Safety Inspectorate is also aware of the incident and is conducting an investigation.
