In the vicinity of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, fierce fighting continues as Russian forces attempt to seize the city by any means. According to the commander of the press service of the 14th National Guard Brigade “Chervona Kalyna”, Nikolai Koval, Russian occupiers have been suffering heavy losses in their frontal assaults and are now trying to break through from the left or right flanks. Pokrovsk is considered a strategically crucial city, and Ukrainian forces are fiercely defending it. Koval reports that occupiers are continuously sending waves of their personnel and equipment towards the city, with Ukrainian forces successfully repelling numerous assaults and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Prior to this, on December 11, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions west of Vidrodzhennya and south of Novotroitsk on the Pokrovsk axis, resulting in the destruction of two defense positions and the loss of one.

Title: Enemy Abandons Frontal Assault on Pokrovsk, Initiates Flanking Maneuvers – National Guard Responds

In a significant tactical shift, the enemy forces have abandoned their frontal assault on the city of Pokrovsk, opting instead to initiate flanking maneuvers, according to reports from the front lines. This strategic move has compelled the National Guard to adjust their defenses and counter the new threat.

The change in tactics comes after weeks of intense fought battles where enemy forces attempted to breach the city’s defenses through a direct, head-on approach. However, the unyielding resolve of the National Guard and the city’s defenders seemed to have proven too formidable. In response, the enemy has now resorted to trying to encircle the city, aiming to surround and overwhelm the defenders from the flanks.

"The enemy seems to have realized that a straight-up frontal assault is not bearing the fruit they were hoping for," said Colonel Ivanenko, a high-ranking official in the National Guard. "They’re now trying to outsmart us instead of outmuscling us."

The reorientation of enemy forces has not gone unnoticed or unanswered by the National Guard. Units have been redeployed to bolster flank positions, and mobile forces have been dispatched to counter the enemy’s attempted encirclement.

"The National Guard is well-prepared for this sort of situation," Colonel Ivanenko assured. "Our forces are mobile and flexible, ready to respond to changes on the battlefield. We’ve reinforced our flank positions and are actively patrolling the areas where the enemy is attempting to gain a foothold."

In addition to the redeployment of forces, the National Guard is also working to fortify key positions and strengthen supply chains to ensure that troops on the frontlines are well-equipped and supported.

As the enemy’s flanking maneuvers continue, the National Guard remains steadfast in its commitment to defend Pokrovsk and repel the forces trying to encircle the city. The coming days will undoubtedly bring more intense fighting, but with their backs against the wall and the spirit of defiance burning bright, the National Guard and the citizens of Pokrovsk are more resolved than ever to hold their ground.

The struggle for Pokrovsk continues, but with each adjustment and counter-move, the National Guard demonstrates their ability to adapt and perseverance in the face of adversity. The battle is far from over, but with every challenge, the defenders of Pokrovsk grow stronger and more determined to emerge victorious.
