Fanatic Dedication England Supporter Sells House to Follow World Cup Dream

The lengths to which fans will travel to support their teams are often remarkable. Andy Milne, a dedicated supporter of the England national football team, exemplifies this passion, taking an extraordinary step to fulfill his dream of attending the World Cup.
Rising ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup, hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, have sparked debate and even legal challenges. The European Fan Supporters Europe (FSE) has filed a complaint against FIFA regarding what they deem as excessive costs.
Undeterred by the financial burden, 62-year-old Milne, a retired teacher, has decided to sell his house to finance his trip. He currently resides in Thailand but owns a second home in Northern England, which he intends to sell for £350,000 (approximately $465,000).
A Seven-Week Commitment
“It is going on the market given that I’m selling it to go to the World Cup,” Milne stated. He plans to arrive in the U.S. On June 3rd and remain for seven weeks, attending England’s matches across the country.
Milne’s itinerary includes England’s opening game against Croatia in Dallas on June 17th, followed by matches against Ghana in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and Panama in New Jersey. He has already secured tickets for all potential England games, including the final.
A Long-Standing Dedication
This will be Milne’s tenth World Cup, having attended nine previous tournaments supporting the England men’s team and the 2023 Women’s World Cup. He is a well-known figure among England fans, often seen with a replica World Cup trophy.
To minimize expenses, Milne plans to rely on the hospitality of friends in Mexico, Dallas, and Vancouver for accommodation.
