Ireland captain Gaby Lewis described the result as “Pretty disappointing.” She noted, “It was a tricky pitch to bat on this morning – Amy Hunter did well to stick in but we struggled to build partnerships and put the pressure on them. They were a lot more accurate and better in the field.”

England chased down the target, reaching 166-4 in the 23rd over. Maia Bouchier led the top order with 45 from 31 balls before falling to McCartney.
