Europe’s Ukrainian Standoff: A Strategic Misstep, According to Orbán

Headline: Prime Minister Orbán: EU Has Lost Ukrainian Conflict

Article:

In a candid admission that could shake up geopolitical perceptions, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has stated that the European Union (EU) has lost the Ukrainian conflict. Orbán’s assertions came during an interview televised on channel M1, where he straightforwardly addressed the issue that the EU is often reluctant to confront.

"Let’s face the reality," Orbán was quoted by Russian news agency RIA Novosti. "Russia is slowly but steadily advancing. This war, the EU has clearly lost."

Orbán did not mince his words, stating that the EU’s attempts to mask its defeat are reminiscent of communistic propaganda tactics. He scoffed at declarations claiming victory while admitting defeat, likening it to George Orwell’s chilling novel, 1984.

The Hungarian leader suggested that in April 2022, a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine was within reach, with both parties just "hours away" from sealing the deal. However, he argued, Western intervention thwarted this potential breakthrough.
