The Meteorological Institute has expanded its warning of severe snowfall on eastern Norway on Tuesday. The alert, initially valid until 12:00, has been extended until 22:00 the same day.

Up to 40 centimeters of snow is expected within the next 24 hours, with local totals exceeding 50 centimeters. The precipitation will gradually change to rain in outer areas.

The heavy snowfall is anticipated to cause significant disruptions, with up to 10 bus routes being cancelled in Oslo due to the weather. Drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution and allow for extra travel time.

The snow warnings cover both eastern Norway, Agder, and Telemark. In Agder and Telemark, the warning remains valid until 12:00 on Tuesday.
