Zorggroep Meander Expands GLI Program for Individuals with Obesity; Focuses on Lifestyle Changes
Zorggroep Meander, a leading healthcare provider in the region, has announced an expansion of its GLI (Gezond Leven Invoeren) trajectory program. This program is specifically designed to support individuals dealing with obesity by focusing on sustainable lifestyle changes, rather than solely weight loss.
The program, which was initially launched to help participants achieve a substantial and maintained weight reduction, will now emphasize overall wellbeing and healthy habits. This expansion is a response to the growing demand for comprehensive, long-term solutions to obesity and its related health issues.
"It’s about more than just losing weight," explains Jan Willemse, program coordinator at Zorggroep Meander. "It’s about empowering individuals to lead healthier, more active lives. We’re shifting our focus from numbers on a scale to increased physical activity, improved diet, and enhanced mental health."
The extended GLI trajectory will offer a combination of individual coaching, group sessions, and digital resources. Participants will receive personalized guidance tailored to their specific needs and health profile. The ultimate goal is to help each individual adopt sustainable, healthy habits that promote long-term wellbeing.
The expansion comes on the heels of successful pilots and positive participant feedback. "We’ve seen remarkable results in our pilot groups," adds Willemse. "Participants report improved energy levels, better mood, and reduced health complications."
Zorggroep Meander’s GLI program is open to anyone aged 18 and above dealing with obesity. For more information about the program and how to participate, visit www.zorggroepmeander.nl/gli.
