At Least Two Dead as Major Wildfires Rage on the Edges of Los Angeles

In a catastrophic turn of events, at least two people have lost their lives with multiple others injured as massive wildfires continue to ravage the outskirts of Los Angeles. The city’s fire chief confirmed these grim details during a press conference, also revealing that tens of thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate their homes.

In the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood, known for its celebrity residents, over 5,000 hectares have been consumed by the inferno, with approximately 1,000 structures affected. The cause of the fires is yet to be determined, but officials are battling against challenging terrain and strong winds to bring the situation under control.

Over 700 firefighters are currently deployed to combat the ongoing blazes, with one firefighter sustaining injuries during the operations. Earlier today, California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, declared a state of emergency in response to these devastating wildfires.

The destructive forces of the wildfires can be seen in the numerous buildings reduced to ashes across the affected areas.
