Tragic Accident in Santa Fe: SUV Plunges into River, Kills 3-Year-Old Boy

A heartbreaking incident occurred on Saturday evening at the Playa de los Estudiantes, a popular camping spot along the río Carcarañá in Santa Fe. A Renault Kangoo SUV careened off a cliff and into the water, fatally striking a 3-year-old boy named Bautista who was camping with his family.

Bautista’s parents rushed him to the local medical center and subsequently transferred him to the Hospital de Niños "Víctor J. Vilela" in Rosario, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. The Santa Fe Prosecutor’s Office has since launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and whether the driver of the SUV has been identified and charged.

Medical professionals at the hospital provided details about Bautista’s arrival and treatment. "He was brought in at midnight with severe trauma to the chest, abdomen, and skull," they reported. "We tried to stabilize him, but unfortunately, it was not possible."

The victim’s family hails from the nearby town of Casilda, and authorities have extended their sympathies to them during this difficult time. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further information about the SUV driver has been disclosed.
