Tragic Vacation Turn: Man Dies in Cordoba River Jump

A 33-year-old man, identified as Emiliano Ustari, was enjoying a vacation with his wife at the "Cuesta Blanca" beach in Cordoba when a dive into the river from an 8-meter height turned tragic. Ustari, an resident of the rural town of De Bary in Buenos Aires province, hit his head on a rock during the fall and died in the water. The incident occurred in the Punilla Valley, near Villa Carlos Paz, in an area known as "Bajada del Ruiseñor".

Ustari’s wife, a 40-year-old from La Pampa, alerted the local police about the accident. Emergency services responded and attempted to revive Ustari but were unsuccessful. Police reported that the impact caused a fatal injury on the right side of his head.

This is the fourth case this summer where a tourist has died in a river or lake in Cordoba province. Previously, a man’s body was found in a drain in La Calera (Sierras Chicas). Another man disappeared in the Santa Rosa River in Villa Rumipal (Valle de Calamuchita), and a third man was found deceased in the San Antonio River at the "El Fantasio" beach in Carlos Paz.

In light of these incidents, provincial authorities have once again stressed the importance of adhering to safety guidelines in serrated areas.
