Head-on Collision on E6 in Olderfjorden, Finnmark: Six Injured, Two Critically
Finnmark, Norway – A serious head-on collision between two cars on E6 in Olderfjorden, Finnmark, has left six people injured, two of them critically. The incident occurred just before 9 AM today, prompting a response from all emergency services and a rescue helicopter from Banak’s 330 squadron.
Collision Details
The collision, involving two persons cars, was described as a "meeting crash" by operations leader Jan Arne Pettersen of Finnmark Police District. Two individuals had to be airlifted to the hospital, with four more transported by ambulance.
Emergency Response
All emergency services rushed to the scene, with the rescue helicopter arriving around 9:30 AM. Pettersen noted that the lengthy response time was due to the long emergency route.
Road Closure
As a result of the crash, the E6 was temporarily closed near the Olderfjord toll booth. According to Pettersen, the road will remain closed until the wreckage is cleared, which may take up to a few hours.
