Title: Boosting Safety Measures: Alcúdia‘s Beach in Mallorca to Get 30 New CCTV Cameras

Tourist-favored Alcúdia in Mallorca is taking stringent measures to enhance safety for both tourists and locals. In a bid to counter the rising number of thefts reported along the popular Puerto Alcúdia beach, the local authorities plan to install 30 new CCTV cameras in strategic locations.

The Majorca Daily Bulletin reports that these cameras will be placed at entry points along the 3-kilometer stretch of sand, aiming to be operational before the start of the next tourist season.

This initiative is part of a wider security plan unveiled by police advisor Juan Sendín. He announced the installation of two ‘strategic points’ – the first of their kind in Spain – designed to protect individuals in high-risk areas, prevent violence, and tackle gender-based abuse. These points are equipped with high-resolution, round-the-clock cameras and direct phone lines to the police.

One of these strategic points has been set up at the notorious ‘Magic Roundabout’ in Puerto Alcúdia, a known hotspot in the municipality.

With this move, Alcúdia reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all who visit or reside in this picturesque Mallorcan town.
