In a live broadcast of ‘Con el Mazo Dando’ on Venezuela’s state-owned Televisora, Diosdado Cabello, Minister of Interior, Justice, and Peace and Vice President of Sovereignty, Security, and Peace of Venezuela, sternly warned that Venezuela is fully prepared to face the continuing threats from the extreme right-wing, determined to sow violence and discord ahead of Nicolás Maduro‘s presidential inauguration on January 10.
Cabello asserted that Venezuela remains at peace despite persistent provocations from the reactionary right-wing with foreign backing. He stressed that the Systematic cameras Reports Council Nacional Electoral’s (CNE) results is not a new tactic, and now they are resorting to violence as they’ve realized that the electoral route is futile.
"If they think they’ll achieve their goals through violence, they’re sorely mistaken," Cabello stated, adding that the turmoil being stirred up on social media platforms is merely further proof of their desperation. He also dismissed recent accusations from exile as recycled narratives aimed solely at inciting violence.
The Minister went on to unveil a supposed coup plot, beneficiaries of a plot led by ex-CNE rector Enrique Márquez to prevent Maduro’s swearing-in and investing an alternative president in a foreign embassy. Cabello revealed a document detailing this plot, which would have former Ambassador Edmundo González assume interim control. Cabello emphasized that according to Venezuela’s Constitution, the President can only be sworn in before the National Assembly.
Cabello also revealed that Venezuela has detained an FBI agent suspected of having ties with Márquez and González’s son-in-law, along with a close friendship with opposition figure Juan Barreto.
"Every time they lose an election, they dispute the results," Cabello commented, underscoring that Venezuela seeks peace despite the right-wing’s fascist threats. He urged the public and radical sectors to remain vigilant in the face of these threats.
As part of these efforts, Venezuela continues to schedule various activities across the country, including plans for a march from Petare to Chacao in Caracas on January 9.
