Former player and current commentator Felipe Melo stated that coach Tite enters the Campeonato Mineiro final not only to win a trophy, but also to secure his position. Pressure from Cruzeiro fans and a turbulent start to the season have raised concerns at Toca da Raposa.
“I’d risk saying that if Cruzeiro doesn’t win against Atlético, I don’t know about Tite. The fans are already putting pressure on him, I don’t know if he’ll continue if they lose,” Felipe Melo said during a SporTV broadcast.
The Campeonato Mineiro final between Cruzeiro and Atlético will be played in a single match at the Mineirão stadium on Sunday, March 8th, at 6:00 PM.
