Alarming incident at Mexico City‘s Starbucks: Woman high on drugs threatens customers and staff with a knife

Minutes of terror unfolded at the Starbucks located at 139 Avenue Michoacán in the Condesa neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc municipality, when a woman, seemingly under the influence of drugs, stormed into the café brandishing a knife and threatened customers and employees.

The woman entered the establishment with the weapon in hand and attempted to attack one of the workers. Immediately, fellow employees evacuated the café to prevent anyone from being harmed. For a few minutes, the visibly unstable woman remained trapped inside with a couple of customers who had taken refuge in the bathrooms.

Two policemen from the Mexico City’s Secretariat of Public Security arrived at the scene. They attempted to distract and calm the woman while waiting for backup to safely apprehend her. The Secretariat eventually arrested the woman, who was later found to have several injuries.

Authorities confirmed that the woman was presented before a judge to determine her legal status. Eye witnesses recall the chilling scene, emphasizing the importance of maintaining vigilance in public spaces for the safety of everyone involved.
