Fiat has finally unveiled the price list of the 500 electric “for everyone”, but on the sidelines of this event it also left room for a new model, the 500 3 + 1. Anticipated by persistent rumors, the 3 + 1 really reaches the production stage, maintaining both the dimensions and the engine of the electric 500 already on the market. The chosen name refers to a model of the past, ed indicates an extra door on the right side, to facilitate access to the rear seats.
When the car is closed the extra door is almost invisible, as it has no handle, and acts as a pillar for the front door. It then opens against the wind, in order to leave a passage space as large as possible. In Fiat’s idea, this car may be suitable for those looking for a compact car, but who have a family, and perhaps are looking for comfort for child seats.
It remains exclusively electric, and takes up the “La Prima” brand already used for the launch of the sedan version. The battery remains the same, from 42 kWh, enough for 320 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle, with a 118 HP engine and 220 Nm of torque. DC charging reaches a maximum of 85 kW. In the launch version it will have 17 “wheels, and the Rose Gold, Glacier Blue and Onyx Black colors.
Technology also finds a lot of space on board the 3 + 1, with the whole series of complete ADAS, as well as interiors enriched by the 10.25 “display. The list price for the electric 500 3 + 1 La Prima is 37,900 euros, which can go down 31.700 euro as a result of government incentives, or even 27.400 euro in case you scrap an old vehicle.
The Icon and Passion series will follow. Icon will have prices without and with incentives, respectively of 33,400 euros, 27,200 euros and 22,900 euros. For Passion instead it will drop to 31,900 euros, 25,700 euros, and with maximum incentives € 21,400.
