Finnian Garbutt:
Actor Shares Heartbreaking Update After Long Cancer Battle
Finnian Garbutt (28), known for his role as a police officer in the BBC series “Hope Street,” has been battling cancer for a long time.
The actor is now sharing a heartbreaking update with his followers on Instagram.
He has recently been experiencing severe pain in his back and hip. After further tests, he has been informed that the cancer has “progressed rapidly.”
“I’m posting this because it’s hard to tell people individually. I am now entering the final stage of life,” he wrote, adding that he “now intends to enjoy time with family and friends.”
The actor thanked fans for their support to him and his family. In a follow-up post, he shared a link to a fundraising campaign for his wife Louise and their one-year-classic daughter Saoirse.
“All I want is for my wife and little baby to have the life they deserve and I was the one who was going to give it to them, which unfortunately is no longer possible,” he writes on Instagram.
The 28-year-old learned his cancer was terminal just two weeks before Saoirse was born. The cancer had then spread to his liver and lungs.
Since his diagnosis four years ago, he has achieved several of his life goals, including appearing in 30 episodes of a TV series, starring in a film, buying his own home, getting married, and becoming a father.
