Breaking: Two Dead in Vroomshoop House Fire
In a tragic incident, two lives were lost in a house fire that engulfed a terraced house in Vroomshoop, Overijssel, last night. The fire, which started around 8:00 PM, led to a significant deployment of fire services and left three dogs dead.
Explosive Precedent?
Neighbors have reported an explosion preceding the fire, possibly caused by fireworks, which caused the floors of several houses to tremble. However, the police have not been able to confirm these reports.
Fire and Rescue Efforts
The intense blaze, located on the Meidoornlaan, saw two residents, a man and a woman, rescued from the property. Sadly, both later passed away. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and declare it under control by around 10:30 PM.
Neighborhood Impact
The fire also damaged the neighboring property. As a precaution, police evacuated residents from three houses in the same block. To ensure safety, Enexis, the local power company, temporarily switched off electricity for around 20 homes.
