In the early hours of Monday, a fire that started in a container spread to a nearby residential building in Bergen, Norway. The blaze, which was first reported around 2:00 AM, has led to the evacuation of seven families from their homes.
The Bergen Police District confirmed that they received reports of a fire in a container near residential buildings in the Sandsli area. By 2:45 AM, the fire had spread to a nearby apartment building. Emergency services quickly responded, and by 3:13 AM, they had managed to contain the fire, preventing further spread.
Authorities have confirmed that residents from seven affected units have been temporarily relocated to a nearby facility. Medical personnel are on-site to assist anyone who may have been exposed to smoke. Fortunately, no other injuries or missing persons have been reported at this time.
While the fire was still active at 2:45 AM, firefighters had gained control and were working to extinguish the remaining flames. The cause of the initial container fire is currently under investigation.
