According to Petr Hruška of the ČHMÚ regional forecasting workplace in Brno, the previous record in Strážnice dated back to 2017, when the temperature climbed to 36.7 degrees Celsius. The 2017 record was also broken in Lednice, where a measuring station registered 36.3 degrees Celsius; nine years ago, the maximum there reached 35.6 degrees.
Three additional temperature records broken by the weather conditions originated in 1994. In Dyjákovice in the Znojmo region, the afternoon temperature climbed to 36.4 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous record of 35.8 degrees. Kuchařovicích, also in the Znojmo region, recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius, beating a 1994 record of 34.6 degrees. The final record fell in Troubsko, where the temperature exceeded the previous maximum of an even 35 degrees Celsius by 0.4 degrees.
