However, the concentration of four current players all exceeding 100 goals is unique to Flamengo. Gabigol, Bruno Henrique, and Arrascaeta arrived in early 2019, forming the foundation for a period of unprecedented success, winning the Libertadores, Brasileirão, and Carioca titles that year. Pedro joined the following year and, following Gabigol’s departure at the end of 2024, stepped into the role of primary attacking threat.

Despite the success of the existing quartet, Flamengo has yet to find a fifth consistent goal-scoring threat. In 2025, Luiz Araújo was the only other forward to reach double-digit goals, though his role has been somewhat inconsistent. Players like Everton Cebolinha, Plata, Samuel Lino, and Carrascal have not yet demonstrated the same goal-scoring ability.

The club reportedly made offers for Kaio Jorge of Cruzeiro and Marcos Leonardo of Al Hilal in the last transfer window, but the high asking prices prevented either deal from materializing. The debate continues under manager Filipe Luís regarding whether to prioritize tactical functions or goal-scoring prowess in new signings.
