Four Drivers Fined for Drunken Driving in Groningen’s Christmas Alcohol Crackdown
Groningen’s festive season took a sobering turn as police fined four drivers for driving under the influence during a Christmas Eve alcohol control operation. The enforcement, which took place between 8:30 PM and 3:00 AM on the Turfsingel in the city center, saw a total of 400 vehicles checked.
In a separate operation on the Abraham Kuypersingel in Hoogezand on Christmas Day, no offenses were recorded.
The stern action serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of drink-driving and the importance of responsible celebrations during the holiday season.
