FrP‘s Surge in Popularity: A New Poll Shows Stunning Gains in Kristiansand
With less than a year until the next Norwegian general election, an intriguing poll conducted by InFact for KRS Avisen Kristiansand reveals stunning shifts in voter preferences in the city of Kristiansand.
Stian Storbukås, Agder FrP’s runner-up for the upcoming Parliament election, attributes this surge to "the time’s motivations." The poll, involving over 1000 respondents, shows a remarkable three-fold increase in support for FrP compared to the last election. Currently, 29.7% of those surveyed would vote for FrP if the election were held today, up from a mere 9.8% in the previous poll.
Meanwhile, Norway’s conservative party, Høyre, has seen a significant decline, with their support dropping nearly 6 percentage points to 17.5%. The Labour Party (Ap), once the dominant force, has also experienced a considerable downturn, losing 8.6 percentage points and now polling at 13.9%.
The most striking decline, however, is seen in the support for the Socialist Left Party (SV), which has lost almost three-quarters of its voters, leaving it with a meager 1.9% in Kristiansand.
These dramatic shifts in voter preferences suggest a fascinating political landscape unfolding ahead of the 2023 Norwegian general election. As the campaign heats up, all eyes will be on Kristiansand to see if these trends continue or if they signal a temporary realignment of political forces.
