Ukraine‘s Intelligence Chief Bуданов Celebrates Christmas with Remarks on Nation’s Resilience and Unity
Ukraine’s Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), General Кирилл Буданов, extended heartfelt Rождество Христово greetings to Ukrainians in a recent Facebook post. "Dear Ukrainians, brothers and sisters! I wish you a merry Christmas, a day of Hope and good hopes, which we celebrate with the Birthday of Jesus," he wrote.
Reflecting on the true essence of the holiday, Буданов pondered what Ukrainians could offer the newborn Messiah. "What do we have most precious, with which to appear before God and the world today – amidst war, sorrow, daily anxieties and losses? Our resilience! Our firm determination not to yield to evil forces, our sacrifice, our unity, and our faith that Good should be fought for!" he emphasized.
The HUR head underscored that Ukraine has become a global symbol of defiance against oppression. "Ukraine today is a symbol embracing our children and parents, our history and plans, our culture, our understanding of justice and freedom, our values and ideals," he said.
Буданов attributed this symbolism to the daily sacrifices of Ukrainian servicemen and civilians working tirelessly to support the war effort. As Christmas lights illuminate homes across the country, he wished everyone inner peace and unwavering faith in a just and honest future. "May each subsequent Christmas be joyous, and New Year, merry! And may it be so!" he concluded.
