Germany Boosts Ukrainian Defense with New Military Aid Package
Germany has bolstered Ukraine’s combat capabilities with a substantial military aid package, as announced on the German government’s official website. The latest influx of weapons includes tanks, missiles, drones, various ammunition types, grenade launchers, and other military hardware. Here’s a breakdown of what Ukraine has received from Germany this time:
- 15 Leopard 1 A5 tanks
- 1 IRIS-T SLM and 1 IRIS-T SLS air defense systems
- 2 Patriot missile system launchers
- 2 TRML-4D radars
- 2 Gepard anti-aircraft guns
- 30 Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles
- 4 missiles for the IRIS-T SLM
- 12 kinetic energy shield vehicles (Diehl Defence)
- 65,000 rounds of GEPARD anti-aircraft ammunition
- 52,000 155mm artillery shells
- 30 Vector reconnaissance drones with spare parts
- 24 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones
- 14 Hornet XR reconnaissance drones
- 5 remote-controlled, mine-clearing systems
- 7 Caracal armored personnel carriers
- 5 AMPS helicopter self-defense systems
- 5 aquatic scooters
- 1 border patrol vehicle
The German government has withheld details on the timing and conditions of the delivery for security reasons until the equipment is handed over.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that his country had provided Ukraine with another IRIS-T system. However, he did not specify which variant, SLS or SLM, was sent.
