Breaking: No Bulgarian Casualties Reported as Wildfires Rage in Los Angeles
The Bulgarian General Consulate in Los Angeles has confirmed that no Bulgarian citizens have been reported as casualties in the devastating wildfires that have been rampaging the city, claiming at least two lives and injuring dozens. Over 1000 structures have been consumed by the flames, leading authorities to order the evacuation of more than 37,000 residents, as reported by Associated Press.
One of the active firefronts is encroaching upon the Getty Villa museum, which houses the exhibition "Ancient Thrace and the Classical World: Treasures from Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece." According to the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA), the museum buildings have thus far remained unaffected, with galleries and most exhibits, including the Panagyurishte Treasure, left unscathed due to their protective displays.
Clarifying earlier public misinformation, the Bulgarian General Consulate asserts that a structure reportedly hit by the fire near the museum is not part of the museum’s complex.
