Sisters Transforming Healthcare Breaks: Crafting Knitting Patterns That Circle the Globe

Anne Lise and Liv Inger Lundseng, by day, are dedicated professionals in the healthcare sector. But when the workweek ends, these sisters don’t just unwind; they transform their downtime into a creative venture that reaches far beyond their hometown. Their passion? Designing and selling knitting patterns that have found enthusiasts worldwide.

The duo’s journey into the global knitting scene began on the living room floor of their shared home. With healthcare jobs that often require long hours, they found solace and a creative outlet in knitting together. "It was our way of relaxing, of leaving our workday routines behind," Anne Lise recalls.

In 2017, Liv Inger had an epiphany. "Why not share our patterns with others?" she suggested. Anne Lise, always supportive of her sister’s ideas, agreed. They started by selling a few designs at a local market, never imagining that their hand-drawn, simple patterns would gain international traction.

Today, their creations can be found in yarn shops from Norway to New Zealand, and their online followers span every continent. Their secret? Not only do they offer instructionally clear patterns, but their designs also evoke emotion. "We put a piece of our hearts into each pattern," Liv Inger says.

Anne Lise and Liv Inger’s favorite part of this unexpected adventure is the connections they forge with fellow knitters across the globe. They share laughter and tips via social media, making the knitting community feel smaller and more intimate.

"It’s incredible to think that something we enjoy doing so much can bring joy and relaxation to others, no matter where they live," Anne Lise says. The sisters agree that they’re living proof that turning hobbies into a global business can be as simple as picking up your knitting needles and believing in your creativity.
