The Investigation and Arrest of Ahmed El-Haddad

According to the Fifth Settlement prosecution investigations in case number 6262 of 2026 felony Fifth Settlement, widely known as the car showroom brawl, authorities ordered the detention of Ahmed El-Haddad. The businessman is accused of participating alongside Sabry Naknoukh, his brother’s son, and others in a fight inside a car showroom located in the Fifth Settlement area. El-Haddad denied committing any criminal acts during the incident, stating to the prosecution that he found himself caught up in the events by chance due to a business relationship with Sabry Naknoukh.

During his interrogation, El-Haddad stated that he has worked in the car trading business for many years and owns several car showrooms in Cairo and the Fifth Settlement. He noted that his monthly income reaches about 500,000 جنيه due to his activity in selling luxury and imported cars. Explaining his connection to Naknoukh, the defendant said he met him about four years ago when Naknoukh purchased a Bentley car from one of his showrooms, establishing a multi-year business relationship.

El-Haddad stated that one day prior to the incident, he received calls from two car traders asking him to intervene with Naknoukh to resolve ongoing commercial disputes between them. He contacted Naknoukh by phone to check on him and learn the reasons for his anger, but Naknoukh appeared extremely upset and asked him to visit his home inside a compound in the Fifth Settlement. Upon arriving at the villa with his friend, El-Haddad listened to Naknoukh’s account regarding a financial dispute over a deal to purchase two chalets in the Marassi area for 72 million جنيه, which Naknoukh believed involved deception and an overpayment.

El-Haddad stated that Naknoukh later asked him to accompany him to a car showroom owned by Mohamed El- to discuss the ongoing disagreements. El-Haddad expressed reservation about going out of concern for potential problems, telling Naknoukh, “If there is going to be a problem, do not take me with you, I am not a person for problems.” Naknoukh assured him the matter would remain a discussion. El-Haddad rode in a car driven by his friend Moataz, while Naknoukh sat in the front passenger seat.

El-Haddad stated that along the way, Naknoukh received a phone call and was heard telling the caller to “be a little patient,” which raised his concerns about a potential crisis. El-Haddad stated he witnessed one of Naknoukh’s companions slap a person standing in front of the showroom, while he and his friend Moataz remained completely outside the incident at a distance.

After a few minutes, El-Haddad noted that Naknoukh and his companions exited the showroom without carrying any belongings and prepared to leave. A security guard then approached carrying a router, asked Naknoukh about it, and threw it in front of the showroom after Naknoukh denied ownership. El-Haddad stated he felt extremely angry, reprimanded Naknoukh for wanting to avoid such troubles, and asked to get out of the car, though Naknoukh instructed him to go to his company first.

El-Haddad stated that after reaching his company, his friend sent him videos from inside the showroom where he did not appear. He then went home to sleep and returned to work the next day before police officers came to his showroom and took him and his friend to the police station. El-Haddad maintained throughout the investigations that he only stood near the perimeter due to his trade relationship and took no part in any violence.
