headline: Severe Head-on Collision on E6 at Andslimoen in Målselv: Three Injured, Road Completely Closed

In a grave development, authorities reported a critical traffic accident on Sunday evening on the E6 highway at Andslimoen in Målselv municipality. The incident, involving a high-speed, front-to-front collision between two vehicles, has resulted in significant material damage and injuries, as confirmed by the Troms police district.

Detectives on the scene, reaching the location at approximately 19:49, characterized the crash as having high energy and considerable impact, as stated by Operations Leader Christian Andreassen to NRK. Authorities have confirmed that three individuals were involved in the collision, although the extent and severity of their injuries remain confidential.

The highway at the scene was promptly closed in both directions to facilitate emergency services’ operations. By 20:30, Mr. Andreassen confirmed to NRK that police had arrived at the location. He described the incident as a serious accident, adding that one individual was rushed to University Hospital of North Norway in Tromsø after receiving on-site ambulance treatment, while the other two involved parties were deemed unharmed.

Investigations are currently underway, with police interviewing those involved and witnesses, as well as conducting an on-site forensic examination. The aim is to determine the causal factors behind the collision, which eventually led to the tragic incident.

Weather conditions at the time of the accident were reported to be challenging. Heavy snowfall significantly reduced visibility, although further details regarding the road conditions have not been divulged. The road closure is expected to last for several hours, with police estimating the duration to be measured in hours rather than minutes. Vegtrafikksentralen has, however, indicated that there may be local detour options available for private vehicles affected by the closure.

This report will be updated as further information becomes available.
