A frontal collision on the M3 motorway has caused significant traffic disruptions, with the Budapest-bound lane closed near Hatvan. The incident, involving a car traveling against the flow of traffic and colliding with another vehicle, occurred around 5:20 PM on Friday at the 60th kilometer, close to Hatvan.
The Gyöngyösi professional fire brigade was quick to respond, arriving at the scene to de-energize one of the vehicles. Emergency services, including an ambulance, were also dispatched to assist. In the aftermath, the affected stretch of the motorway was completely closed to traffic.
Traffic Congestion:
The collision has resulted in substantial traffic buildup in the area, with congestion spanning over three kilometers, as reported by Utinform. Motorists are advised to consider alternative routes, with the 70-numbered Gyöngyös-nyugat/Hort intersection providing an option to switch to the 3-numbered main road.
Update:
By 10:00 PM, the investigation and cleanup efforts were completed, allowing traffic to flow freely again on the affected section of the M3, as confirmed by Police.hu.
