Los Angeles, CA – A raging inferno has engulfed the luxurious Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, forcing the evacuation of numerous Hollywood stars and destroying several celebrity homes. The blaze, which began on Saturday, has spread to other western regions of the city, prompting Governor Gavin Newsom to deploy northern California’s firefighting resources southward.
Among the celebrities affected are Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Reese Witherspoon, Mark Hamill, and Eugene Levy, among others. Affleck was spotted rushing to the home of his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, where their children reside, as the fire threatened his own residence, which he purchased in 2024 for $20.5 million.
The fire has also claimed the homes of reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, while many other celebrities remain in limbo, awaiting the fire’s unpredictable path. Notable landmarks, such as the Moonshadows restaurant on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, have also been consumed by the flames.
Over 30,000 residents, including the evacuated celebrities, have been displaced as dense smoke blankets much of the city. Firefighters face an uphill battle, as some homeowners’ use of sprinkler systems has inadvertently hindered efforts by reducing water pressure.
James Woods, the 77-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, shared harrowing images of the blaze near his home before being evacuated. Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, who have Bulgarian roots, also own a lavish estate in the affected area, valued at $26 million.
As the fire continues to ravage the city, residents and celebrities alike brace for the uncertain hours ahead, hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
