Drone Strike Targets Strategic Russian Oil Pipeline ‘Friendship’
In a daring pre-dawn operation on Monday, December 30, attack drones dubbed "Peklo" struck a blow to the Russian ‘Friendship’ oil pipeline in the Bрянская область (Bryansk Oblast) village of Мамай (Mamay). The attack was reported by local outlets, including Dialog.UA, citing Russian Telegram channels.
The ‘Friendship’ pipeline is a critical Russian infrastructure, serving as the primary fuel supplier to Belarus and European countries still reliant on Russian energy. The incident occurred around 5:00 AM local time within the village of Mamay, near Новозыбков (Novozybkov).
Russian Telegram channel Mash reported no casualties in the attack. Russian state media claimed the pipeline itself sustained no damage, with only a nearby ‘technical building’ hit. However, these reports warrant further verification.
Earlier this month, Dialog.UA reported a similar drone strike on an oil depot in Калуга (Kaluga). In November, we reported a drone attack on an oil depot in the Ставропольский край ( Ставропole Krai). Earlier this year, a spill from the ‘Friendship’ pipeline was reported in Польша (Poland).
