As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, most of Norway can expect a chilly and snowy celebration. According to Meteorologisk institutt, the country will experience cold temperatures and snowfall, with some regions receiving up to 24 centimeters in the next 24 hours.

The cold snap is due to a low-pressure system moving in from the English coast, which will bring rain and snow to southern parts of the country. While the wind will pick up, it’s not expected to be particularly strong.

However, not all of Norway will be shivering this New Year’s Eve. Trøndelag is set for a clear night with plenty of snow on the ground, making it the perfect setting for fireworks displays.

"Prognosene ser gode ut for Trøndelag.

While the rest of the country can expect a white New Year’s Eve, Trøndelag will have the added bonus of clear skies, making it the envy of the nation as we ring in 2025.
