Veneto Tops National Average in Health Service Personnel Density

The Italian healthcare system’s personnel density varies significantly across regions, with Veneto leading the pack. According to data released by the Fondazione Gimbe, Veneto boasts 13.1 units of public healthcare personnel for every thousand residents, surpassing the national average of 11.6.

In detail, the 2022 figures indicate that Veneto had a personnel density higher than the national average. Despite this, the region’s spending per capita on public healthcare personnel in 2023 was 662 euros, only slightly lower than the national average of 672 euros.

Conversely, Campania’s 2022 spending per unit of public healthcare personnel amounted to 49,838 euros, falling short of the national average of 57,140 euros.

These figures highlight the discrepancies in healthcare resource allocation across Italy. Understanding these differences can inform policy decisions and help ensure equitable access to healthcare services for all Italians.
