Sofia‘s Public Transport Schedule Changes for Holidays
Sofia’s public transport system is set to adapt its schedule for the upcoming holiday season. The city has announced adjustments to its transportation services for Christmas and New Year’s.
Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day
From December 24 to 26, all public transport will adhere to a holiday schedule. Similarly, December 23, 27, 30, and 31, along with January 2 and 3, will also see adjusted schedules, excluding metro lines 1, 2, 3, and 4, which will maintain regular daily schedules. Additionally, specific bus, tram, and trolleybus lines will also operate as usual.
Temporarily, several bus lines will not be in service, including U1, U2, 7, 58, 68, 75, and 294.
New Year’s Eve
In line with tradition, many public transport lines will extend their hours on New Year’s Eve, December 31, from 11:30 PM until 04:30 AM on January 1. These include all metro lines, select bus, tram, and trolleybus lines.
Changes for Church Attendees
The city has also updated its public transport schedule to accommodate those attending the New Year’s Eve Divine Liturgy at the “St. Alexander Nevsky” Cathedral.
